Account details (name, email, phone, password, stored encrypted), job details you post (description, postcode, contact preferences), trader business details (company name, coverage area, profile description), verification documents for regulated trades (insurance, scheme certificates), payment records (handled by our payment providers, we never store card numbers), and messages sent through the platform.
To run the marketplace: matching jobs with local tradespeople, sharing contact details when a lead is purchased, verifying badges, processing wallet payments, sending service notifications (job matches, lead receipts, compliance reminders) and providing support. We process this data to perform our contract with you and under legitimate interest in operating a safe marketplace.
Your contact details are shared ONLY with tradespeople who purchase your lead (maximum four per job). Trader verification documents are visible only to the trader and our verification team, never publicly. We do not sell personal data to anyone, ever.
We send service emails as part of running the platform. Marketing emails (such as the daily jobs digest for traders) include an unsubscribe option. We never share your details with third-party marketers.
When a customer posts a job, we may invite trade businesses in that trade and area to quote for it, using business contact details those businesses publish themselves on their own website or public business listing (for example a business email address or phone number). We only send an automated email invitation to limited companies, and every such email names Energy North Ltd and carries a one-click opt-out link. Sole traders are never sent automated messages. We keep sourced business contact details for up to 12 months, and any business can ask us to stop at any time by using the opt-out link or emailing [email protected].
Our database and services are hosted within the EU/UK on professionally managed infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Payment processing is handled by regulated providers (PayPal and Revolut).
Account data is kept while your account is active. Verification documents are kept while the badge is valid. Financial records are kept for 6 years as required by UK law. You can request deletion at any time (below).
You have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Make any request via the Contact page and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with our answer.
