Why upgrade your fuseboard?
Older fuse boards with rewireable fuses or no RCD (Residual Current Device) protection are a significant safety risk. Modern consumer units provide essential protection against electric shock and fire โ and are now required under the 18th Edition wiring regulations.
Signs you need an upgrade:
- Fuses that blow regularly
- No RCD protection on circuits
- EICR report showing C1 or C2 codes on the consumer unit
- Old plastic or wooden fusebox
- Lights flickering or tripping
What's included
- Full removal of old consumer unit
- Installation of new dual RCD or RCBO protected board
- Full labelling of all circuits
- Part P compliance certificate issued
- Notification to local building control
- EICR on existing installation included where required
Fully Part P compliant
All fuseboard upgrades carried out by Energy North are notified to the local building authority and a Part P compliance certificate is issued. This is required by law for any work on consumer units.
