Our City&Guilds electrician will first check that the electricity supply to your home is sufficient for the new fuseboard. They will then disconnect the electricity supply and remove the old fuseboard. The electrician will then install the new fuseboard and connect it to the electricity supply. Finally, our electrician will test the new fuseboard to make sure it is working correctly. A certificate from the City&Guilds electrician’s testing body will be provided to confirm that the work has been carried out to a high standard. Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) If you upgrade your old fusebox with us, we give you free Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs) and Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates (MEIWCs). As the person responsible for the safety of an electrical installation, with a declaration that the new installation, or alteration or addition, is safe to use at the time it was put into service according to City$Guilds regulations 18th edition BS7671. The EIC is required for: New installations When a new circuit or circuits are installed to an existing installation The changing of a consumer unit (distribution board) When a circuit is altered and the alteration requires changing of the protective device. After the initial verification, once the full inspection and testing procedure has been carried out, an Electrical Installation Certificate must be completed. This is legally required.
