Energy North Ltd, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, has welcomed the latest announcement from the UK government's Office and be Member Installer in UK for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) . The OZEV has announced a new grant scheme that will provide funding for electric vehicle (EV) charger points for both residential and commercial properties.

Under the new scheme, property owners can apply for either the Electric Vehicle Charger point Grant (EV Charger point Grant) or the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Grant (EV Infrastructure Grant). The EV Charger point Grant provides up to £350 or 75% off the cost of installing an electric vehicle charger point socket, whichever is lower. Property owners can receive up to 200 grants per year for residential properties and up to 100 grants per year for commercial properties.

The EV Infrastructure Grant, on the other hand, offers up to £30,000 or 75% off the cost of wider building and installation work that is needed to install multiple charger point sockets. This grant is ideal for property owners who want to install charger points for multiple vehicles or who need to make wider infrastructure changes to their property to accommodate electric vehicles. Property owners can receive up to 30 infrastructure grants per year.

Energy North Ltd is delighted with the new grants, which will make it more affordable for property owners to install EV charger points. "This is fantastic news for the UK's transition to electric vehicles," says Energy North Ltd 's CEO, "We are committed to providing renewable energy solutions that help our customers to reduce their carbon footprint, and the OZEV's new grant scheme will make it easier and more affordable for property owners to install EV charger points."

The OZEV's new grant scheme will make it easier for property owners to transition to electric vehicles, which is an important step towards reducing the UK's carbon emissions. The transport sector is one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions in the UK, and electric vehicles offer a cleaner and more sustainable alternative.

In addition to the financial benefits of the grants, the OZEV has also made it easier for property owners to apply. The grants are open to a range of property owners, including landlords, right to manage (RTM) companies, residents' management companies (RMCs), freeholders, property factors in Scotland, private registered providers of social housing (PRPs), public sector organisations, and charities that manage or own residential property. The grants can be used for flats, houses, apartment blocks, and commercial properties.

To be eligible for the grants, property owners must ensure that each parking space they are applying to install a charger point at is off-street, private, and clearly defined, and that the space is accessible to their tenant. The parking space must be owned by the property owner, or the owner must have the legal right to it. The installer must also check that the electric vehicle can charge safely in the parking space.

For those applying for the EV Infrastructure Grant, the property must have multiple homes, such as an apartment block or estate with buildings that share a car park. The property owner must also be installing at least one charger point socket as part of the work and carrying out work on at least 5 parking spaces, so they either have charger point sockets or are ready to have them installed in the future.

Energy North Ltd is committed to providing renewable energy solutions that help its customers to reduce their carbon footprint. With the OZEV's new grant scheme, it will be easier and more affordable for property owners to transition to electric vehicles and reduce their impact on the environment.

"We are thrilled to see the UK government taking such a proactive approach to the transition to electric vehicles," says CEO. "The OZEV's new grant scheme is a significant step forward in making electric vehicles accessible to everyone, and we look forward to working with our.
